Fighting my way to the top of the water,

I just need some air.

I’ve been holding my breath for so long,

fighting to breathe…

Fighting. To. Breathe…

The world beneath the surface is going in circles, but doesn’t revolve around me…

Sure, there’s beauty, there’s life, but their serenity makes me dizzy.

Everyone goes about their business as if the waters aren’t drowning them, and yet, it’s killing me.

They don’t know they’re dying, they’re just glad to be free.

If I could only get to the top and catch my breath, there would be no one on top to look down on me.

Hey, there’s a sailor navigating towards me, he doesn’t have a care in the world as the waters carry him downstream.

I’m fighting my way up, but he cannot see me.

In frustration and desperation, I make it to the top, but the waters of aggression covers my mouth.

The waters are good to him. He relaxes as it carries him wherever he wants to go.

”Help! I’m over here!” My yell sounds more like a dry whisper.

I’m weak and weary, and fighting for my life.

He’s no longer in sight.

I need a lifeboat…
I need, a lifeboat…

Do you feel like there’s a void in your life? Have you ever prepared to go somewhere (a vacation, to work, etc.) and you thought you had everything that you needed, yet there was this feeling that something was missing? If you’ve ever ignored that thought, there’s a good chance that you got to your destination only to find that you did forget something that you needed. It’s possible that you forgot about the item you needed because your mind was focused on where you were about to go, but at the same time your subconscious was telling you that there was something else you needed.

Is there something missing in your life? Do you know what that something is? Is it a family? Is it the certainty of your purpose? Is it self love? Is it God?

There’s a difference between being whole and being complete, and it has to do with two things. Wholeness comes from the Spirit of God, and being complete comes from having attained the fullness of what we feel like we were put on earth for. You can call it your purpose, but really your purpose is a part of the puzzle that makes you complete. It sounds kind of complicated, but I’ll make it plain shortly. It’s very possible to be whole, to walk in your calling, and not be complete. That feeling of incompletion stems from our desires. If you are in tune with the Holy Spirit, God is leading those desires, so you aren’t wrong for having them!

His Spirit is telling you that you’re missing something! Don’t feel guilty for those desires, like love. Everyone needs love, whether you desire marriage or not. We all need someone. Some people need a husband or a wife.

Some people need a child. Some people need a cat or a dog. We all need love, and not always in the same way. The best way to receive love, is to give it. You can do this by walking in your purpose and doing it in a way that positively benefits others. In other words, do it out of love and not because you’re seeking anything in return.

I said I’ll make it plain, so, here goes. Wholeness comes from the love of God, and completeness comes from loving and being loved by others. God’s love fills the void and makes us whole, but the love from others and our love for them, makes us complete. It all has to do with love, folks! The Spirit of God gives us everything we need to become complete!

Imagine preparing to bake a cake. God will make sure you have all the ingredients to make a WHOLE cake! The cake comes out the oven, and it’s good the way it is, but depending on the person, you may feel like it’s missing something! It’s missing the icing! The love we want to give and desire from others, is the icing on the cake!

The icing completes the cake! The cake is whole by itself. Not having the icing doesn’t take away from what makes up the cake, but it can complete it! On the other hand, icing without a cake is well… just icing… (Wonk, wonk, wooonk…) lol We’re not complete if we don’t have anyone to love. In the beginning, God even said, it wasn’t good for man to be alone, so He made a woman.

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

When God blesses you, show your gratitude by managing that blessing in a way that glorify His name. If you treat that blessing like it’s nothing, you’ll lose it, but if you cherish that blessing and honor God with it, God will increase you even more, because He sees how faithful you are with what you have. Let’s learn to be good and faithful stewards over the blessings God has entrusted us with! ❤️

Do what God created you to do. Don’t imitate other people, be your authentic self. When you try to do something God hasn’t called you to do, it won’t bring the same results as it does someone who is operating in their God given purpose. You will become frustrated and lose heart because you’re trying to do them, instead of doing you! Also, whatever you do in life, make sure you do it 100%.

Make sure all of your ducks are in a row. Make sure you know the facts, and make sure that you are confident in what God has called you to do. Have your business together. If your gift is bringing joy to people with your smile, then be the very best at smiling, brush your teeth, take care of your oral hygiene, because you want to be the best, at what you do! No matter your calling, don’t half step when it comes to your gift or something you’re passionate about, because going over and beyond is what sets you apart from the rest.

If you put forth half the effort, you will yield half results. Whatever you put out, comes back to you. So, no half stepping, and don’t do anything for people’s approval. Do everything as if you’re doing it for the Lord, and God will see that and elevate you!

God is a deliverer! I pray for those who are battling addictions of any kind. Life is hard, unfair, and uncertain… but guess what? You are more than a conqueror, you’re blessed and highly favored, and you can be sure that God always has your best interest at heart! You don’t have to carry those burdens alone, there’s hope!

You don’t have to live life anxious, strung out, fearful, or defeated! Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and if you turn your worries over to Him, He will give you rest (peace). There’s a better way than numbing the temporary pains of life with temporary pleasures that can cause permanent damage to you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, if you don’t release it. You don’t have to trade one struggle for another. Let go and let God.

The troubles that we face in this life, can’t compare to the glory that will be revealed in those who are in Christ. So, don’t lose hope. Allow God to help you. You are more than what you go through. You are more than an addict, and through Christ, you are more than a conqueror!

In life, we experience a lot of bad things, but there’s also a lot of good. The first step to experiencing the good, is to LET GO of anything that’s doing more harm in your life than good. Give it to God by going to Him, asking for His help, and truly having the heart to release that thing that’s keeping you bound. Through Christ, you have power over any snare, generational curse, or strong holds! You don’t have to get comfortable with struggle, addictions, and defeat.

Never lose hope. We may not know everything, but there’s one thing we can be certain of. If we put our faith in God, He’s promised us hope and a future in Christ. It’s time to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, joy that can’t be taken away, and a love like no other. “How to let go and let God,” get your copy today.  👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

I’m going to give you a few golden nuggets (secrets) to success… It’s not found in your comfort zone and it’s definitely not found in familiar faces. You must NOT be afraid to take risks, you must be able to accept constructive criticism, and you must learn from your mistakes. Stop thinking that your success rides on the backs of people you know or grew up with, because your success is up to you, and success varies from one person to another. Success is not being rich.

There are plenty of rich people who are failing at life. Success is living a FULL life. Success is accomplishing any of the goals you’ve set for yourself, small and large. Celebrate every goal you accomplish and stop waiting to be happy until you hit the big one! When you hit the big goal, it’s definitely something to celebrate, but if you have a void in your heart, the void will continue to be there when you hit the pinnacle of your success. This is because the world’s idea of success won’t fill that void.

No outside thing can fix those inner issues. So, get right with God and learn to love and be at peace with yourself first, no matter how the world views you. The only One you need to worry about knowing you is, God. Stop working so hard to get people’s recognition, because those people only love the idea of you, and not the real you. The people who love and support you for real, knows the real you and you don’t have to step out of character, or do something dramatic to earn their love, because it’s unconditional. Last but not least, don’t be afraid to get to know new people.

A sad truth is that, most people who’ve known you a long time WON’T support you, for different reasons. You may think they owe you loyalty, but they don’t. It is what it is, focus on those who are loyal to you right now, and aren’t waiting on your “come up” to ride the wave. Most of your blessings will come from strangers. That’s just how God works. The lack of love or support from people you know, can’t stop what God is doing through you.

He put you here for a purpose, and your focus is key to fulfilling it. So, hang in there. Don’t get caught up in what’s going on in other people’s lane, stay in yours! Keep a humble spirit and a pure heart. Keep God first.

Branch out and take risks. Celebrate small success as well as the big. Find love and peace within yourself, and my friend, you’re going to be all right! Love you! ❤️ God bless.

Self check: You good?

We really have to guard our hearts because if we don’t, we will miss the opportunity to bless others. Sometimes, we can get so wrapped up in what we go through, that we allow what’s going on outside, to get inside of us, but God is calling us higher. Just because we’re hurting, doesn’t mean we should hurt others. Just because we’re going through the fire, doesn’t mean we should put others through hell. You know what Jesus said the two greatest commandments are?

First, “Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul and all your mind.” And the second one is, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:37-39. So before we get offended or go around with our defenses up, ready to snap on anyone we feel is trying us; remember, it’s our duty as God’s people, to be a light to others. How can the world tell us apart if we’re out here acting a fool and doing things from our feelings, when we should be doing things out of love. Remember, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

You never know what people are going through. Try to act out of understanding instead of reacting out of hurt, fear or anger. Never miss the opportunity to be a light. You may be thinking, what about me? What about what I’m going through.

Who’s going to be there to support or comfort me while I go through? Can I be honest with you? When you pour into others, God will pour into you. God will sustain you and He will send the right people to bless you, His way. So, let’s make a pact, to be mindful about how we treat others.

You may not be doing okay, but don’t ruin it for others. God is watching what you do while you’re going through, just as He watches what you do after your breakthrough. Let’s love one another, with the love of God, and while you’re at it, check out my book, ‘How to let go and let God’ on Amazon. Love you. Ttyl.

Excuse my rant but editing sucks! 🗣🗣🗣
If you’re a writer, I’m sure that you get where I’m coming from. It’s really tough when you’re a self-published author, like myself, who has to do A-Z of the writing process 📢 BY YOURSELF! You may wonder where this frustration is coming from.
Well let me tell you. Editing shows you all your mistakes. It shows your inconsistencies. It shows where you can use some improvement. You even have those moments where you’re like, “What the hell was I thinking?” That’s me, currently, while editing one of my books for the fifty-leventh time!
Anyway, now that I’m done ranting.
I want to give you some quick inspiration. While going through the motions of my love/hate relationship with editing, I’ve realized that life’s a big old edit. Except you can’t go back and change the past, but yeah. Think about it. You may not be able to change the past but you get a do over. You can ultimately change the trajectory of your story.
If you pay attention, you can learn from your mistakes and become wiser. You may make some pretty awesome plans for your life only to find out that it’s best to take a completely different route, or that you suck at that and need to find your niche, or whatever the case may be. Just as editing can show you the truth about your work. Life can show you the truth about… your works! Life shows us who we are and it’s up to us to pay attention.
We don’t have to like the editing process of life that causes us to face some hard truths about ourselves, but in the end, it helps shape, mold, and grow us. In the end, if we’ve paid attention to the editing process of our lives, we will end up with a beautiful story.
So, even though editing to me is like the trials and tribulations of book writing, I can’t help but be patient and pay attention. I make it my business to learn from my previous mistakes so that I won’t continue to waste time. I’m ready to move on to the next level of this editing phase, but this part requires my attention, self discipline and patience. A lot of which the next level of my life is requiring. Thank God for Jesus, because in the editing process of life, His grace is sufficient for us to make it through. He’ll even help you with the entire process of writing a book. 😉
Anyway, hope you have enjoyed. No, I didn’t edit this. So if there’s mistakes, too bad. I’ve been editing for twelve hours straight, I have a headache and I just want to eat tacos and go to bed. Goodnight! 🌙😘

Teachers would say, “Keep your eyes on your paper.” God is saying, “Keep your eyes on your journey.” Don’t worry about how fast others get through their test. Stay focused, that’s how YOU get through it. You can’t see the road ahead of you if you’re looking at the one beside you or behind you. It’s not about when you arrive. What matters most is that you complete the mission. This is not a competition of speed, it’s a race of endurance. #stayfocused #goodmorning

Proverbs 4:25, 27 (CEV)

“Keep looking straight ahead, without turning aside.”
“Don’t make a mistake by turning to the right or the left.”

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you compare and complain about certain areas of your body not meeting the world’s standards? Do you criticize yourself more than you celebrate the person you are? What do you really think about yourself? Do you truly accept yourself, or do you only accept yourself with a filter, designer fashion and all the things of the world that people covet?
Do you dislike your imperfections because the media’s filled with perfectionist? Do you think that it doesn’t really matter what you think?
Let me tell you something my dear friend. Your struggle to love yourself will remain a burden to you if you continue to try to live up to the world’s standards of who’s acceptable. If you look in the mirror and only see that model on social media, how will you ever see yourself?
If you’re only seeing other people, their relationships, accomplishments, or possessions, when will you ever see how blessed you are?
When will you see your true beauty? When will you see how good you’ve got it? Do me a favor. Every time you want to complain about not having what you or the world considers the best of something, thank God that you have what you have, instead.
Gratefulness is a major key to inner peace and self love. If you can’t change something about yourself, embrace it, because some people change what they think was their problem, only to find out that their issues are more than skin deep.
It’s rarely about what’s on the surface, and more about what’s in your heart. It’s time to adjust your crown. The world expects you to maintain a house, maintain a six or seven figure job, raise perfect kids, marry well, be a socialite, have the perfect face and a snatched waist, oh let’s not forget a nice bottom.
Wait, while you’re at it, put on a cape and be sure to save the day… EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
It’s too much, sis…
You’re trying to keep up with what other people require of you. No wonder you hate yourself… You have no peace because you’re hearing everyone else’s voices. Tell your mind, “Peace be still.” It’s time to quiet your mind so that you hear the voice of the only ONE who truly matters.
He thinks you’re all that, even when you’re a hot mess. He loves you so much that even when you didn’t know Him, He died for you. He calls you blessed. He calls your children, their children and their children blessed. He says, you’re powerful.
He calls you many great things, but what matters most is He calls you by name, and says, you are His! He loves you! Imperfections and all. Perfection is an illusion.
Embrace your realness and then love it, because God does! Trying to keep up with the world standards of what you should look like and who you should be isn’t being a superhero. Embracing who you are and loving how and who God created you to be, now that’s a real super power! Adjust your crown. Love you! 🥰
Remember, having it all means being grateful for what you’ve got. 🙏🏾
