Can I just be transparent for a moment? Listen, I live to encourage people through writing because I know what it’s like to lack. I know what it’s like to be betrayed. I know what it’s like to have your heartbroken. I know what it’s like to feel helpless, frustrated, anxious, confused and depressed. I know what it’s like to lose someone you love. I know what it’s like to have your dream shattered. I know what it’s like to be rejected, neglected, talked about and frowned upon. I know what it’s like to be faced with an impossible situation… BUT GOD! 🙌🏾 So, I know how the man in the Bible felt who told Jesus, “Help my unbelief.”

We know God can, but sometimes we go through some things for so long, the struggle becomes all we know. We get used to being broken. We get used to being sick. We get used to insufficiency. We get used to settling. We know God can, but things have been looking so bad for so long, we start to feel hopeless or we feel like maybe it’s God’s will. Listen, I want to encourage you today. It is not God’s will for you to live life broke, busted and disgusted. God has said in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s will for your life isn’t for you to live miserably and die. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27. God wants us to walk by faith and not by sight (see Corinthians 5:7). God gets excited about our faith! Faith is our love language to God and He not only understands it, He responds to it immediately. I know our timing doesn’t always seem like this is the case, but God is always on time. We worry about tomorrow but Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:34. God wants us to focus on today because who promised us tomorrow? This is why Jesus taught us in the Lord’s prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread.” -Matthew 6:11. Most of our worries and anxieties would fade away if we focused on today. God always gets us through today so stop worrying about tomorrow. I don’t care how long you’ve been battling that addiction or illness, or how long you’ve prayed for a come up but your bank account is saying insufficient. I don’t care who walked out on you. Who turned their back on you. Who told you that you weren’t good enough or who said you’ll never make it. News flash: You’re making it! Despite the hell and high water, you’re still here by the grace and mercy of God! 🙌🏾 So, don’t stop believing God can. In fact, go around with an “It’s already done,” mindset! Thank and praise Him in advance. Jesus said, in Mark 11:24, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” It’s already done y’all! Continue to faith your way through! Whatever you believe will manifest. Believe God! Matthew 9:29, “Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Somebody need to shout, “It’s already done!” In Jesus name. ❤️

Let’s face it, as much as we want to be on top of things, there’s just some things that’s out of our control. Sure we can take precautionary measures, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, however nothing is guaranteed. One thing is for certain though, God is real and He is all powerful. Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Quick testimony. Three weeks ago I was in church. With my heart and mouth I was praising God, but my mind was stuck on an issue that I felt was hopeless. My mind kept going before God saying, “I can’t. I can’t. I can’t.”

Remind you that although I was doubting my abilities in the natural, my soul was continuously praising our supernatural God. The more I praised God, the less the issue pressed me, and as I praised Him even more, it was like I (my abilities and my way of thinking) was being peeled off of me. It was as if I was a banana, and God was peeling that layer of I off of me, until it was no longer I but He who was revealed in me. Sometimes we just don’t realize the goodness on the inside of us! In that moment when I realized that it was no longer I, but Christ at work in me, I knew He could do anything through me, all I had to do is believe!

Maybe you’re like I was, feeling like a banana, with peelings of self doubt covering up the God in you. Maybe you’re dealing with something else. Your peelings could be anxiety, depression, heartbreak, sickness or insecurity. I want you to know that the answer to your issues aren’t in your capabilities, it’s in God’s power! Yet praise Him!

Praise Him through what you go through, and watch Him pull away all those things that’s hindering you, until you recognize the God in you! His Word says that “He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Come out of that I mindset, which causes anxiety and hopelessness. When you are in Christ, there’s no longer I, but Christ who lives in me. ❤️

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

There comes a time in all of our lives when we can no longer sit around twiddling our thumbs in despair; upset, broken-hearted and depressed about the cards life has dealt us. It’s like an alarm goes off that lets us know it’s time to do something. That alarm is sounding off the word persist! There are numerous scriptural references in the Bible that tells us that persistence pays off. Sometimes the key isn’t waiting on your blessing, it’s going after it, however it’s all in God’s timing!

Think about the woman with the issue of blood. She had been to any and everyone she thought could help her condition, but no doctor, medicine or other remedies worked. She knew who could help her though, Jesus. It was time! She decided to go get her blessing.

She thought, if she could just touch the hem of Jesus garment, she’d be made whole.

Imagine her pressing through the crowd, making her way to Jesus. She was determined to get her healing! The fact that so many people were in front of her wasn’t an issue. She wasn’t distracted by what the people behind her were saying, and she didn’t care about people pushing against her on both sides.

She continued to press through! She didn’t care that everyone was touching Jesus, she didn’t need to touch him, only the hem of his garment! The crowd around Jesus was probably so bad, that she had to crawl her way to him! Nevertheless, she was persistent.

Her faith stopped Jesus in his tracks!

He said, “Who touched me?” His disciples were like, everybody is touching you or trying to touch you! Jesus was like no, this was a different touch, power left me! I know I’m paraphrasing but, I’m trying to get you to understand. We live in a world where everyone needs Jesus, but it’s not enough to know you need him if you don’t have a faith to pursue Him!

Don’t get waiting on God confused with doing nothing. When we wait on God, we’re always proactively waiting! Whether it’s studying His Word to develop your relationship with Him, or volunteering at a homeless shelter and trusting God that one day you’ll be able to open your own shelter for the homeless! Waiting on God is about starting where you are, with what you have! Go in faith and be persistent!

You have to push through the struggles, difficulties, distractions, disappointments and anything else that’s been keeping you from receiving what God has for you! You must believe what the scripture say in Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Faith is an action Word, and so is seek! These are two key words in Hebrews 11:6. Today I challenge you to not only believe God will, but I also challenge you to go get your blessing from God, whatever it is! If this means job searching until you get the job you’re believing God for, then go in faith and do not settle for less!

If this means believing that God will heal you like the woman with the issue of blood, then believe and don’t doubt. Pay attention to what God is telling you! If He is telling you to fast and pray, then do it! If He’s telling you to apply for a job you don’t qualify for, then trust Him! If He is telling you to get the surgery you can’t pay for, then TRUST HIS WILL OVER HOW YOU FEEL!

God can do anything, and He’s especially moved by our faith!

Luke 8:43-48 English Standard Version (ESV)

43 And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone. 44 She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased. 45 And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.” 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. 48 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
