Father, I pray that you comfort the hearts of those who are full of worry from the troubles of this world or personal issues they face in every day life. Lord, help them to rest their minds by giving their troubles to you. Jesus, we trust you. You are Lord over all, and your Kingdom never ends! You reign forever. You’re bigger God. Bigger than anything and everything life throws at us. We put our hope in you. We thank you that the war is already won. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. We do not walk in fear. We walk by faith and complete love. We are free, delivered, victorious, and powerful. We are a people who shall not want because You take care of every one of our needs. We plead the blood of Jesus over our minds, our lives, and our family, to include the entire body of Christ. We declare 1 Peter 2:9 over our lives. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” We’re not afraid of tomorrow because we know you’re there. We thank you for knowing the beginning and the end and everything in between. No matter where we are in life God, you are there. Thank you for mercy. Thank you for grace. Thank you for favor, but most importantly, thank you for your love. Your love keeps us, even when we can’t keep ourselves. Your love protects, covers, restores, heals, empowers, frees, delivers and so much more! If we had a thousand tongues we couldn’t thank you enough. We take the focus off ourselves and give you the glory, Lord. You deserve to be magnified. You deserve the praise. You are God, and you reign forever. Have your way in our lives. Take a seat on the throne of our hearts. We turn our cares over to you. In Jesus name. Amen. 🙏🏾
Father, calm my anxieties. My mind seems to be everywhere right now. Sometimes, I don’t know whether I’m coming or going, and I just need you to make it stop. Speak to my soul. Help me to be still. Set me on the right path and keep my foot from slipping. Help me to keep my eyes on you, and keep me from dwelling on the past, the what if’s, my current situation or tomorrow. Strengthen me for whatever comes my way. I shall NOT cower in the face of danger or uncertainties. Fear has to bow at the name of Jesus. Help me to stand when difficulties come. Increase my faith, for my hope is in you. Fill me with your Spirit. Guard my heart and protect my mind. Tell me what you require of me during this season of my life, and I will do it. Your Word says, in Hebrews 13:21, that you will equip me with everything I need to do your will, and you will produce in me, through the power of Jesus, every good thing that is pleasing to you. Help me to do my best, and not to sweat the rest, because whatever is out of my control, is in your hands. Jesus I trust you. I trust your will for my life, my current situation and my future. Thank you for your love, guidance and protection. I know that there’s a purpose for everything I go through, so I count it all joy! I make Romans 8:38-39 my personal declaration tonight. “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
Stop worrying. Seems like when things are bad, we worry about when things will become good, and when they are good we worry about how long the good will last. Can we ever just enjoy the moment? Whether we’re going through or coming out, many of us are anxious anyway, and God doesn’t want us to live anxiously, He wants us to be at peace in any situation. You know what anxiety is? It’s a side effect of fear and doubt. I call those two ungodly spirits “the twins” because those two forces roll together. If doubt is around, fear is nearby, and vice versa. So, the important thing to remember when times are good or bad, is that God is with us, and His Word is true, no matter what situations we face. God is not someone who switches up on us according to what’s going on in our lives. Things change, people change. God does not! Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.“ In Malachi 3:6, God said, “I am the Lord, I change not.” These are things we need to remember, before we fear our uncertainties. We must stop doubting God, and believe that He is with us in every situation; especially the ones we do not understand, because those are the most crucial, there’s a bigger purpose behind it. Give yourself a break, and what I mean by that, is take a breather and rest your mind, heart and soul in the care of the Lord. When you feel yourself becoming anxious make this affirmation, “God is with me, He will help me, I am not alone!” This affirmation is backed by scripture! I talk about the importance of speaking scriptural affirmations everyday. Positive affirmations should be a daily part of our lives, or several times a day if you’re someone who’s constantly battling that demon. Don’t feel down about it, keep fighting it with the Word of God, and you will defeat it! The way to overcome anxiety or anything that’s not of God, is to not give in. James 4:7, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.“ Remember, whether you’re doing good or bad, the SAME GOD is always with you! Ecclesiastes 7:14, “When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.” For more inspiration, listen to this. https://anchor.fm/shubricca-bell/episodes/Transforming-your-mindset–A-positive-shift-from-negative-thinking-eb7k9r
Frustration is a result of anxiety and impatience. It happens when you try to do things apart from God, maybe not intentionally, but you do things in your own strength. Not because you don’t trust God, but because you’ve lost sight of Him, so you begin to do too much, too quickly. Sometimes, life can feel as if it’s throwing a hundred different things at you, all at the same time, and if you’re not careful, you’ll try to catch every single thing that life throws your way, by yourself. Then when something small is thrown your way, you lose it, because you’ve been trying to keep it all together. God is saying, “Calm down. I’m right here. It’s okay, and it will be okay. Do you trust me with your life? Okay, then focus!” It’s okay to take a breather. Anxiety will tell you if you take a breather, you might miss something, but you won’t miss a beat if you put your cares in the hands of God. Not just the big ones, the little ones too! Whenever you feel frustrated, remember:
1. You’re never alone. God is always with you.
2. Breathe and focus on God. He promised to keep you in perfect peace if you stay focused on Him.
3. You don’t have to do things in your own strength. God will help you. Ask God how to approach the situation. He said, if you ask for wisdom, He will give it to you without judgment.
4. You can’t control everything, but God can do what you can’t.
Now, calm down. Take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out, letting all your frustrations go. Everything will be okay. You’ve got this, and God’s got you! Be blessed. ❤️
Prayer: God I’d been frustrated and I had no clue why. I’ve been quick tempered, anxious and emotional, and I apologize. Forgive me, Lord. Thank you for revealing the source of my frustration. From this day forward, I will focus on you, trust you in all things, and seek your counsel before I approach any situation. In Jesus name. Amen.
Are you dealing with difficult or negative feelings that you just can’t seem to break from? The Bible makes it clear that you’re not alone, in fact, it states in Psalm 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” The key thing to remember when you’re dealing with these feelings is that, you are not alone. There are people who is going through or have been through exactly what you’re going through, within the body of believers, so don’t be afraid to talk to someone, don’t be afraid to pick up your Bible and not only read, but study it, so that you’ll know how to fight when you’re being mentally attacked by the enemy. The enemy can’t get into your heart if the Holy Spirit is there, so he will try to whisper negative thoughts into your mind that will cause you to feel some type of way, but through the blood of Jesus, you can overcome his schemes before those negative or difficult feelings turn into strongholds. Below is a list of negative or difficult feelings and scriptures to help you combat them through Christ. The only way to conquer these feelings is by the Word of God, being honest about how you’re feeling, and talking to either a therapist or someone you can trust. There’s nothing wrong with seeking help. God has people in those places for a reason. Remember, He uses people, places and things to get messages to us! Be blessed. 1 Peter 5:9-10
“Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
I feel like a wanderer. I know my purpose, I have clear directions, but I’ve been in the wilderness for way too long and my soul needs to step foot in the promised land. Seeing it from a distance isn’t enough. I know that I’m going the right way, but it seems like I’m just going in circles. It’s not that I’m discontent, with your provision, I’m grateful! I just know in my heart that where I am, is not my end. I’m traveling through, but truth is I’m tired, Jesus. How long, God? I’ve thought about giving up, but your Spirit won’t let me. Thank you for your grace, Father. The fact that you won’t allow me to stop believing in my dreams, let’s me know the vision comes from you. I’ve become anxious though, Lord, because I’m not seeing the results I’d like to see. Many of my plans have failed and time waits for no man. I need to know what to do. I can see evidence of growth and progression in some areas of my life, but I feel as though I’ve hit a brick wall in other areas. These areas aren’t the most important, but they are important to me, but at the same time I don’t want to be selfish God. I want your will to be done in my life, more than anything. Your Word says, in Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” So, Lord, I know you’ll never give anyone a vision without the intention of fulfilling it. I know that I can’t rush your plan for my life, but I don’t want to be idle either. Is there something else that I should be doing on my end, or should I just be still and wait on you? Give me the wisdom to differentiate between anxiety, and when your Spirit is saying it’s time to move. In Jesus name.
Listen. An apple tree, starts off as a seed, and overtime it grows and progresses into what it was meant to be. It doesn’t go from a seed to an apple tree in a blink of an eye; it progresses over time. There’s a process. The apple tree doesn’t look at the birds in the sky and compare itself to a bird, because it is not a bird. The bird has a specific purpose and so does the tree, and just because it takes the bird a minute to fly thirty feet in the air, and it takes the tree 10 years to reach thirty feet, doesn’t mean that the tree is less important or isn’t doing exactly what it was intended to do. The tree must remain planted. The tree can’t stop harsh weather from coming, it can’t stop bugs from eating away at it, it can’t stop weeds from trying to kill it. It can’t fly down south like a bird, when the temperatures gets too cold. It can’t stop it’s leaves from dying or falling off… It can’t stop it’s owner from pruning it or cutting certain parts of it off, but as long as it stays in the owner’s care, it will thrive, and become what it was created to be. All it has to do is stay planted. The owner is the one who makes sure it becomes what He intended for the tree to be.
Proverbs 16:1, 16:3
New Century Version (NCV)
“People may make plans in their minds, but only the Lord can make them come true.”
“Depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
Ephesians 6:13-18 New International Version (NIV)
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Don’t dwell on your wants because wants never go away. When you get what you want, it doesn’t seem as important as it did when you didn’t have it, so you began to look for the next best thing trying to satisfy that desire for more. We’re always going to want, but don’t tie your happiness to how much of your wants you receive. That’s how the enemy steals your joy, by keeping you in your feelings about the things you desire. You don’t need to have it all in order to be happy. Happiness is a choice. That want will not fill that void in your life, like the Spirit of God can. The truth is, you can live without it, you just want it, because you think it can compensate for what’s missing in your life. Even if you had what you considered “having it all” that want for more will never fade, so learn to be grateful for what you do have. Make the most out of the present opportunities, and count your blessings. Your wants may hurt, but it hasn’t killed you and it won’t. God has promised to supply your every need, so if you don’t have it, you don’t need it or you don’t need it right now. The main thing is to want more of God more than you want for anything. More of His Spirit, more of His love. More of His strength. More of His peace. More of His grace. The more of God we have, the less we allow anxiety, depression, doubt and fear in.
Prayer: Fill me up with your Spirit God. Help me to stop overlooking my blessings because I’m too busy focusing on how others are blessed differently than me. You never promised to supply all my wants, but you did promise to supply all my needs. I realize that you give each of us grace for what we can handle. Maybe I haven’t received what I want because I’m not equipped to handle it right now, if so, teach me so that I’m in position to receive. Show me what I need to do to put my faith into action to receive my heart’s desire. If my heart isn’t in the right place, put the right desires there. If it’s not your will that I receive that particular want, then please God, show me how to overcome my wants and my will so that I can fulfill your will for my life. If this is a test of my faith, then give me the strength to stand and increase my faith so that no matter what I will hold on to that dream until I’ve received what I’m believing you for. I don’t want my desires to be selfish, I want them to be pleasing in your sight. Have your way God. Restore the joy of my salvation and give me your peace. In Jesus name. Amen.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Song: I AM by James Fortune
Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us how to stand firm in the Lord by being equipped with the full armor of God. The very first thing this scripture tells us to do is to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. It’s imperative that we draw strength from God and rely on His power that’s at work in us, rather than leaning on our own understanding, which many times is derived from the way we feel and has no real basis of truth, which leads me to the very first part of our armor; the belt of truth. What is a belt used for? To hold things up or keep them in place.
Basically our belt is our security. The TRUTH, is our security. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Did you catch that?
JESUS aka the LIVING WORD OF GOD, is the TRUTH! God’s Word is true. Stand on it, no matter where you are in life, and no matter what you go through! Don’t allow what you choose to compromise on, cause you to also compromise the truth. If you compromise the truth, you’re living a lie.
Sure, we all want healthy loving relationships, where we’re compassionate and understanding; but if we have to compromise our truth (who we are in Christ), in order to be accepted or feel loved by others, then we’re going about things the wrong way. You will never have to compromise who you are in Christ to attain real love. God is the perfect definition of love. Don’t feel guilty for being obedient to God. Stand your ground.
You’re not being unreasonable when you refuse to compromise on the Word of God. You’re not being arrogant when you boldly declare the truth! You’re not being ignorant when you refuse to accept anything less than God’s best for your life. Before Jesus healed the two blind men, He asked them if they believed He could heal them. When they opened up their mouth and declared their belief, Matthew 9:29 says that Jesus said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.”
You know what this means?
It means that your faith sets the course of your life. If you believe little, then you will never know your full potential, but if you believe big, God will do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or think! Don’t feel like you ever have to compromise the TRUTH! Stand on the Word. People are either going to love or hate you for it, but don’t be moved by how people feel about you.
Be compassionate, be understanding, and love without limits… COMPROMISE!… but never compromise the TRUTH! Your peace of mind and spiritual man depends on it!
Comparison cripples purpose. I’m going to say it again for the people in the back… 🗣🗣🗣COMPARISON CRIPPLES PURPOSE! If a person is too busy comparing someone’s else’s strengths to their personal weaknesses, how is the scale balanced? If a person is too busy dissecting someone else’s life, how can they get their own life together or walk in their God given purpose?
Oftentimes when we compare our life to others, we do it on an unbalanced scale. For instance: Jill is a natural born singer. She practically came out of the womb singing and has been in talent competitions since she was two years old, later it gained her a decent following base on social media, and now that she’s 18, she has a record deal and it appears as though she’s living the life. Kara is also a natural born singer who has been in talent competitions since the age two. She was also a baby model, and as she grew she became a promotional model for commercials, and by six, she had a regular role in a television series.
Kara is now 18, and is known all over the world for her singing and acting roles. If Jill compared her life to Kara’s, instead of counting her blessings, she’d see that they both have the same talent, but she’d wonder why things worked out better for Kara, when she’s been working just as hard. She’d wonder why it took her eighteen years to get a record deal, and Kara got her first gig at the age two. Jill wouldn’t be comparing their lives on a balanced scale, because although they both can sing, Kara’s also an actor, and because of the early exposure to the entertainment industry that she’d had as a baby, it has gained her much success. Kara also worked hard for her success, and it cost her years of childhood that she couldn’t enjoy.
Jill on the other hand, had a fulfilling childhood, and also worked hard to compete in talent shows, but she didn’t have the same exposure as Kara. It took her longer to get discovered. From a pessimist point of view, they’d only see that Kara has it made, and that they’ve worked hard all these years and don’t have anything compared to what Kara has. They’d look at Kara’s house, salary, and other material things and get depressed. An optimist on the other hand would first count their blessings, instead of compare.
They’d understand that life is meant to be a journey, and not a competition. They’d be thankful that their hard work is paying off, even if it took longer than it takes others. They’d understand Ecclesiastes 9:11 which says, “I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.” In other words, this scripture is saying just because you’re the best at something, it doesn’t mean you’ll be in a high position or attain success quickly. Life happens! 🤷🏾♀️
The story above is just an analogy, because sometimes it’s not what a person knows, it’s who they know, but the same principle applies. You really don’t know the sacrifice. Oftentimes we see a person’s glory, without knowing their story. I believe that if we had a peep into some of the people’s lives that we compare our lives to, we’d thank God more for what we have and complain less about what we don’t. You don’t have what it takes to live their life, because it’s THEIR LIFE (journey) to live, not yours, and vice versa.
We all have a price to pay for the life we want, whether we have to give up something to make room for something else, or even give up someone, who’s been holding us back from becoming who we’re meant to be. Becoming oneself takes sacrifice! Comparing your journey to others will only upset and depress you! You don’t know what a person had to sacrifice to become who they are, so count your blessings, focus on your strengths, and know your true value. I can guarantee you that you’ll be much happier with who you are, and where you are in life if you do these things.
Lastly, don’t let things be your goal. The real goal is Heaven! Be blessed. ❤️
Let’s face it, as much as we want to be on top of things, there’s just some things that’s out of our control. Sure we can take precautionary measures, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, however nothing is guaranteed. One thing is for certain though, God is real and He is all powerful. Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Quick testimony. Three weeks ago I was in church. With my heart and mouth I was praising God, but my mind was stuck on an issue that I felt was hopeless. My mind kept going before God saying, “I can’t. I can’t. I can’t.”
Remind you that although I was doubting my abilities in the natural, my soul was continuously praising our supernatural God. The more I praised God, the less the issue pressed me, and as I praised Him even more, it was like I (my abilities and my way of thinking) was being peeled off of me. It was as if I was a banana, and God was peeling that layer of I off of me, until it was no longer I but He who was revealed in me. Sometimes we just don’t realize the goodness on the inside of us! In that moment when I realized that it was no longer I, but Christ at work in me, I knew He could do anything through me, all I had to do is believe!
Maybe you’re like I was, feeling like a banana, with peelings of self doubt covering up the God in you. Maybe you’re dealing with something else. Your peelings could be anxiety, depression, heartbreak, sickness or insecurity. I want you to know that the answer to your issues aren’t in your capabilities, it’s in God’s power! Yet praise Him!
Praise Him through what you go through, and watch Him pull away all those things that’s hindering you, until you recognize the God in you! His Word says that “He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Come out of that I mindset, which causes anxiety and hopelessness. When you are in Christ, there’s no longer I, but Christ who lives in me. ❤️
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
