Don’t start if you can’t finish.

Don’t start a new relationship if you’re not over your past relationship. If you aren’t emotionally available, don’t come into a person’s life and pretend to care when you know that you don’t plan to invest yourself in ways that can build a healthy, meaningful relationship between the two of you. It isn’t fair to the person who is ready for real love, and who’s able to put the necessary time, energy, and effort into establishing a lasting bond with that special someone. It’s really simple, if you can’t finish it, don’t start, period! Stop using people as a means to cope with your inner issues. If you don’t have what it takes to genuinely get to know someone and allow them to get to know the real you, then work on yourself until you can… There’s way too many people out here getting messed over and thinking it’s their fault, all because some people are cowards, and instead of being open, honest, communicating, and working on their self healing, they decide to play mind games. Too many people desire real love, but not enough people are prepared to receive it, so when the relationship gets serious and feelings are involved, the people aren’t prepared, run… not because the other person did something wrong (they could be doing everything right), but because they have commitment issues that came as a result of a past relationship in which they are still not over that ex.
