Going back to the people and things that God has saved you from will not help you move forward. When your past calls, don’t answer. You know what’s back there so why go, back there? Yes, moving forward can be challenging. New beginnings can be scary. The lonely days can be overwhelming, and day to day life can be demanding, but don’t allow present difficulties to take you back to a person, place, or thing that God has delivered you from.
No one said that the road would be easy. Sometimes, we associate past trauma with comfort, so when things get difficult, we go back to what our minds deem “comfortable” but it’s not comfort, it’s familiar. Don’t familiarize yourself with toxicity and disfunction. Just because things aren’t always easy, doesn’t mean you should give up and go back to things you know. Trust God in those times you don’t know! Trust Him at all times, and keep moving forward.
