This is day two of the devotional I’ve created for those in need of a “mental break” during these troubling times. If you haven’t read day 1, go back and read my previous post and I’ll meet you back here to catch you up. 😉
I, nor my family haven’t had one single worry since this pandemic. Fear has tried to creep in on some occasions, but as quickly as it comes we all send it packing back to the pits of hell from where it comes from. God’s love for me and my faith in Him leaves no room for fear. 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”
This pandemic has shown me that God takes us through in order to teach us to stand. It’s hard to stand when everything seems to hit you at one time, but standing in the midst of present difficulties will teach you to trust in God during future test and trials. Psalm 55:22, “Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” When you are faithful in your difficult season, God will exceed your expectations in the next season of your life by showing you favor like you’ve never imagined. I’m speaking from experience. There were times in my life that the only thing I had to stand on was God’s Word, and there’s nothing wrong with that, because if you have God, He will meet your needs. Anyway, I was out of a job, I was terribly behind on bills, I was going through with my health, it was just a frustrating time, but God! 🙌🏾
I haven’t worried about NOTHING during this pandemic. My family’s cup has been overflowing and we have been able to give back or pay it forward. God blesses us to be a blessing to others, and when you have it to do it, I tell you, it’s pure joy! Acts 20:35, “‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” I’ve been on both ends as the receiver and the giver and it brings more joy to me knowing that I’m helping someone in need. Giving gives your life purpose in whatever form you give. Whether you are giving a helping hand, a dollar, a prayer, your talent or whatever you’re giving to make someone’s life easier.
Yesterday I talked about how God keeps His promises to us, no matter what we go through, but today let’s focus on how we can keep our loyalty to God. A great way to do this is with our service to our fellow human. You don’t have to dig deep to find out how to be there for someone, all you have to do is say, “Use me Lord.” It doesn’t matter where you are in life or what you have, God will make a way for you and when you selflessly give to others, His favor will rain down on you in ways you’ve never imagined. Just continue to trust Him through what you’re going through. In every situation, He is God and He is good!
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
