God is full of surprises. Don’t you just love those unexpected blessings He pours on us! What about those timely messages of inspiration or confirmation from a complete stranger! Those are so awesome! 🙌🏾 Just when you think you’ve figured Him out, boom! Surprise! Lol, but sometimes the surprises doesn’t always feel good and exciting at first. Sometimes God’s surprises comes as a challenge. It comes to nudge or even push us out of our comfort zones, and level up our faith.
Good News Translation
He has set the right time for everything. He has given us a desire to know the future, but never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what he does.
How many of you like the game Uno? 🙋🏾♀️ It’s one of my favorite games. Well, oftentimes our faith walk can feel a lot like the game of Uno. I know mine does! We don’t know the cards we’re going to get dealt in life, we just play them the best way we can, and sometimes when we yell, “Uno” and prepare ourselves for the win, guess what God hits us with? That’s right. That good old, draw four. *Pulls cards* 🤬1, 😫2, 🙄3, 😒4… I’m like dang, can I catch a breath, Lord? He be like, “It’s working for your good.” (See Romans 8:28) I be like 🧐😐😒 “Okay, God. Thanks. I don’t FEEL or it doesn’t LOOK as if it’s working for my good, BUT JESUS I TRUST YOU! I will walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).” You see, I’m going to be straight up with y’all just like I am when I speak with God. He’s my Father. I’m not going to pretend that waiting doesn’t suck, sometimes. However, I have enough understanding to know, sometimes the wait is necessary. I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t sting sometimes, when God tells me no, because truth is, sometimes it hurts, but I have enough wisdom to know that when He says no, it means there’s a better way. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Check this out though, sometimes that better way doesn’t immediately make us better, or feel better for that matter. It’s all a process. Oh, how great it would be to never have to go through anything and automatically walk into the promises of God. Yeah, nice thought, but there wouldn’t be any room left for faith and real trust in God. There also wouldn’t be much room to learn, grow and become wise. So, although I don’t like these not so fun at first, types of surprises, I’m not moved by my emotions. I choose to walk by faith. I’ve learned that just because I don’t always understand why, doesn’t mean that what I’m going through is of the enemy. I’m a child of God, and Jesus leads me. Therefore, if I’m going through something I don’t understand, it’s to test my faith. God allowed it! Remember people, if you are a child of God, the enemy has to get permission to do anything to you (See Job 1:12), and if God allows it, He will also make you better for it. God doesn’t allow you to go through what you go through to tear you down, He allows it to build you up! It will always serve a greater purpose. Romans 8:18, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Hang in there! Keep the faith! Believe the best is yet to come! “Uno, out!” 😉💪🏾🙌🏾
