Show your ugly side.

You can spend a lifetime perfecting your outer appearance, but it won’t compensate for the brokenness on the inside. God can take the ugliness inside a person’s heart and create something beautiful, but you must be willing to show Him your ugly side. Don’t spend your life trying to mask the pain of your past with material things or people. Those things or people can’t fill the void or heal the hurt in your heart like God can. His healing power brings true freedom that lasts. The world and the things thereof will temporarily relieve the pain, but never get rid of the problem. Don’t be afraid to confront those demons that plague your mind with lies, past disappointments or heart breaks. God is able to deliver and show you what real love is like, so that your hope is restored, joy is complete and peace surpasses all understanding. You don’t have to hide those internal scars any longer. Show God your ugly truth. He wants all of you, not just the pretty you choose to show to the world. Be transparent with Him. He won’t love you any less. His love for you is perfect, despite your imperfections. He can’t use us in masked form. He can only use the real you, even if the real you is a hot mess, a broken record or a pain in the butt. He wants to use you where you are, you don’t have to fix yourself up before coming to Him. Just come as you are and His love will accept you as you are, and at the same time make you better than you are, through Christ. You may have made mistakes, who hasn’t? Show Him your naked truth, don’t hide your shame. Give it to Him, because truth is, we can’t do life without Him. Jesus took the shame of our sins upon Himself, over two thousand years ago. He carried our burdens so that we can be free. Accept His gift of salvation today, and you’ll never have to bear your cross alone or carry the guilt and hurt of your past. He will teach you which battles to fight and which ones to be still and trust Him with. I know the pain can be comforting, but come out of your comfort zone because there is a better way… and His name is Jesus; “The way, the truth and the life (John 14:16).”
Matthew 11:28-30 New International Version
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
