Be careful about who you look to, and what you listen to…

Be very careful that you’re not a person who only hears what their ears are itching to hear, because you will only hear what people say and miss what God said, even though His response will be clear as day. Listen my good people, God gave us common sense for a reason. You can tell when someone’s not genuine. All you have to do is ask God for wisdom and His Word says, He will give it to you. These days, no one wants to tell it like it is. There’s definitely a market for sugar coating crap.  If you tell it like it is, people label you judgmental or insensitive, but the world can call it what they want. I’m only interested in what God calls it, and if He calls it the truth, it’s the truth and if He says, it’s a lie, then it’s a lie. There is no gray area. We must be very careful not to be “sheeple” of the world because the Lord is our Shepherd.  It should be only He who leads and guides us, not our feelings and not the world. The world plays off people’s feelings. It’s a “I got what you think you need,” type of world that we live in, but most people only see “I got what you need” and they’re sold on that idea. As people of God, we are to stand out and stand boldly and offer people what they truly need, and that is the truth. The unadulterated word of God and the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Be very careful with who you listen to and receive information from, some people use God for clout, and it’s sad, very sad for them. They’ve twisted His Word with their laws and personal agendas. Therefore, we must, “Try the spirit by the Spirit (see 1 John 4:1).” Don’t be afraid to. The Holy Spirit gives God’s children the authority and power to tests spirits. It’s a knowing deep within your spirit that no amount of words or actions can confirm. It’s almost like seeing clearly into one’s soul.  Don’t worry, God will send confirmation. People can’t bamboozle you for long.  Luke 8:17, “For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.” It’s up to the person on the receiving end to make the wise decision of what to do with the knowledge God has given them concerning an individual. The point is, don’t be led by people, don’t look up to people, don’t aspire to be like people. Look to God and only Him, and He will show you the direction in which you should go, and whether someone is using manipulation or any form of deception towards you, their plans will not succeed because you’re not believing in them, you’re believing in God. I believe people are most often let down by others because they looked to those people or that person the way they should only look to God. The Bible says, in Isaiah 64:6, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” For this very reason, we shouldn’t think a person’s position, title, or where they fall on our family tree, exempts them from being human. We shouldn’t expect them to be perfect or incapable of making certain mistakes that we deem unacceptable. The hard truth is, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” – Romans 3:23. So, don’t be afraid of a person’s truth, because if you’re following God and not people, or your feelings, someone else’s truth shouldn’t affect yours. It’s all about who you will to. No one has more power than God, but He doesn’t use His power to make us love Him or do His will. Let’s be honest, some people do. Many people do! They use rank, position or status to coerce individuals into doing what they want.  It’s not always by force, sometimes it’s by simply selling one the idea that “I got what you need.” I don’t know about you, but I won’t be sold on this idea that another human being has the power to give me what I need to live a happy fulfilled life and I definitely don’t need a human being to validate who I am in Christ or in life. Jesus did that! I will look to His truth and not my feelings. I will look to His ways, and not the ways of the world, and no matter who’s truth or what lie is exposed, I won’t be moved. My hope is in the Lord. The world and everything in it is passing away but the Word of God stands true forever, and in Him, and only Him, do I have everything I need.
