God’s not like that

In life we get so used to people letting us down or giving up on us, that we begin to think that it’s the norm. We make a mistake and the world holds it against us forever. We get judged by other people for our imperfections, just because our flaws are different from theirs. None of us are perfect, but somehow some sins get swept under the rug, and some are frowned upon and some (according to people) will send you straight to hell. Some people cringe at the sins of others but somehow their sins (in their minds) are harmless. A little white lie never hurts anyone, right?… Wrong! A lie is a lie and although it may be harmless to you, the ripple effect of that lie could hurt or even become catastrophic to someone else. But thanks be to God, 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” When God speaks, it’s more than a promise, it’s a guarantee; it’s His Word. Isaiah 55:11, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” You don’t have to worry about God changing His mind on you. One of the great things about God is that, He knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb and He still chose you! Did you hear that? I know you’re thinking, but I chose to get saved… Listen, the Word of God says that He chose you! Jesus said in John 15:16, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit–fruit that will last–and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” God chooses us as we are so that He can fix us up and get the glory! He does this so that the world (including us) will know that it was only by His grace and mercy that we are who we are. I think it’s so awesome that God’s love for us is everlasting! It doesn’t just rest on us in our good times, His love rests on us throughout all time. When we do slip up, He allows us to repent and He forgets about it. He helps us do better, and gives us a second chance, unlike the world we live in. If you make a mistake, depending on what the mistake is, the world doesn’t give out second chances and not many people are forgiving; but thank God that He is the God who sits high and looks low into the hearts of people and He judges with righteousness! So you don’t ever have to worry about Him switching up on you. He said what He said… period. So if you’re going through, don’t think that God is mad at you. He doesn’t bail on us in hard times like most people. He’s here for the long haul. So, don’t allow what you go through to draw you away from Him. Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” Let’s just take a moment to thank God that He doesn’t think like us! 🙌🏾If He did we’d all be doomed! Thank you Father for being all seeing, all knowing, and all powerful. Thank you for knowing my heart, loving me in spite of my flaws and still choosing me while knowing I’m not perfect. Thank you that what I can’t do, you’ve already done, through Jesus, and it’s in His name that we pray. Amen!
