Pay attention to those unexpected moments because it’s God’s way of reminding you that He’s not only near, but He is listening. I was feeling some type of way tonight. I started to count other people’s blessings and before you knew it I’d forgotten about my own. You know saints, we have to be careful. We need to recognize distractions for what they are or before we know it, we’ll allow the wrong spirits to talk us into thinking foolishly. Believe it or not y’all, the enemy knows that we as the children of God are blessed. He knows our full potential, but it’s us that sometimes allow our problems to cloud our vision, and I have to admit, depression almost had me, but God intervened. Out of no where He sent my oldest daughter in my room to give me a hug out of no where. She just came in and hugged me, and said, “I just wanted to give you a hug.” Let me tell you, all the crap that was filling my head immediately vanished. In that moment I knew that was God. He knew exactly what I needed. I needed something simple, yet priceless… I needed to know that I was loved and appreciated. The very demons that I was battling were telling me the total opposite. Now, I know for a fact that God loves me, my family loves me, I love me and my family in Christ loves me… but do you see what can happen when you start to count other people’s blessings instead of your own? When you begin to count other people’s blessings and ignore what God has and is doing in your life, depression kicks in. You begin to feel not good enough. You begin to think that maybe it’s something wrong with you. You become anxious. But when you’re a child of God, He is not having it! No siree! So He’ll send you little unexpected love notes to let you know He’s with you and He loves you, and everything will be okay. This is why it’s so important to pay attention to what’s going on spiritually. Had I not been in tune with the Holy Spirit, I wouldn’t have recognized that the unexpected hug from my daughter was a love note from God. The things that I was questioning in my life became so clear. I instantly regained focus. God reminded me of my purpose in life, and a part of my purpose is to continue to show my four daughters what a virtuous woman is. In that moment of the unexpected hug, I knew that His grace was sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Listen my good people, as we used to say in the 90’s, “You are all that and a bag of chips!” You wanna know why? Because you have been set apart by Jesus Christ Himself! You’re not traveling through life fatherless! God is our Father! He sees and knows all! Just because things aren’t adding up on your end, doesn’t mean that they aren’t coming together! There are things you’ll never know about that God has protected you from. He’s faithful. His Word says in Psalm 91:11, “For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.” Do you know what this means? God will protect you from your wants if that desire will be more of a hindrance to you. He knows when we’re truly ready for what we’re praying for, and He protects us from anything that’s going to cause us to fall short of our destiny in Christ. His will is more important than how we feel. So don’t get caught up in your feelings because your purpose is greater than you, and that’s what I was reminded of tonight. We’re not here to only help ourselves, we’re here to help others. So, don’t get caught up in a selfish mindset, thinking that your life is only about you. It’s not about you, but what the Holy Spirit is trying to do through you. So be grateful about where you are in life. Praise God for what He’s done for you in the past, what He’s doing in the present, and what He’s going to do in the future. Don’t compare your blessings, count your blessings. He loves you and knows the plans that He has for you. ❤️
