You can always tell when people are miserable. No matter how good they look on the outside, the ugliness on the inside always tends to show. They refuse to celebrate other people’s happiness and success. They find something negative to say about everything, even when there’s nothing negative about it. It’s their minds I tell ya… When you think negatively, automatically you’re going to perceive things in a negative way. Let’s all take a moment to pray for these folks to stop basking in their unhappiness because it’s really hurting and hindering them, more than it does the people who they’re looking down upon or talking about. Another reason that it’s important to let the past go! If not, you’ll become bitter; holding on to the offense of the past, while the person or people who hurt you are happily enjoying life. Don’t ever allow someone to take your beauty away from you, and I’m talking about real beauty, that inner glow! Things that can’t be bought like, love, kindness, that inner joy that shows when you smile, and your peace of mind. If someone walks out on you, make sure that they don’t leave with your inner virtues. If you came happy, when they leave, you should still be happy. It all starts with you first. Love God, love yourself and then you’ll be able to “Love your neighbor as yourself” which is commanded by God and said to be by Jesus himself, as one of the greatest commandments after loving God (see Mark 12:31). When you think about it, it’s hard to love your neighbor when you hate yourself, no matter how cute you are physically. Our outer appearance is but a temporary mask. The important things, things that last forever are those things planted in our hearts, in our minds and in our souls. Things that even after we leave this body, are forever with us. Those attributes are what makes us who we are. Let’s make sure that we’re carrying around the right Spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” – Galatians 5:22-23(a). Do a fruit check in your life. If you’re not producing any of the fruit above, then perhaps, there’s a seed there that shouldn’t have been planted. Ask God to help you remove it, in Jesus name and bury this next scripture in your heart and in your mind, Philippians 4:8, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” In Jesus name. Be blessed.
