Not all advice is sound.

… đź’Most people’s advice comes from their knowledge or lack thereof… Be careful who you listen to. It’s easy to follow the crowd because everyone wants to be “loved” or “accepted”. However, real love and acceptance doesn’t have anything to do with what the crowd is doing… The crowd can all go dive off a cliff and right before they do it, declare that it’s not killing yourself, it’s freedom… but God gave us common sense, and what you choose to do with it is your free will… but you need to choose wisely. Real love begins with God and then loving yourself and being accountable for your actions, regardless of what the world is doing. You should be constantly making yourself better, and encouraging others to be better. Real love doesn’t bask in their misery and invite others to do the same… that’s foolishness… This is why a person must ask God for wisdom, knowledge and understanding, because you need all three to discern spirits and you need all three to successfully navigate through life so that you won’t be bamboozled by what your feelings wants to hear… because people can sell you b.s. all day long, if that’s what you’re on, or if you’re a person who’s led by your emotions and not the Holy Spirit. So, before you allow someone to talk you into doing something stupid, take a step back and look at their life. You’re not judging, you’re observing… Is this person giving you sound advice? Is this person being led by the Holy Spirit? Does this person have qualities that you aspire to have? Is this person trustworthy? Is this person mentally, emotionally and spiritually mature enough to even be giving out advice? Listen, don’t be pressured into doing something just because your friend did it, or your grandma did it, or your coworkers done it! Figure out what works for you, by seeking God. We are all different, and so are our journeys. We may have similar stories, but none of them are one hundred percent the same. Therefore we must seek God first, as the scriptures say, and then everything else will be added to us! God will give you whatever it is that you need, to help you get through life, all you have to do is ask, and then go in faith with the answer that He has given you. James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

  1. This is a powerful post and I totally agree with you, we need the wisdom of God, and ask the Holyspirit for directions instead of just listening to anyone’s advice. Thanks for sharing and God bless you
