Be Christminded.

Selfishness will keep you from what the blessed flowing hand of God is trying to do through you. You can’t receive with your fists clenched! You may think you’re keeping something to yourself but you’re really missing out on something greater! You can’t see things from God’s perspective if you’re in your feelings, and you can’t be a light if you refuse to let others shine. Be generous, regardless of other people’s actions and always have a mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:3-11 (NIV)

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death– even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Listen my good people; it’s not about us! It’s about Jesus! Let’s follow His example. Let’s focus on our purpose more than we focus on who’s out to get us, or who don’t like us, or who treated us badly or how we’re at a disadvantage. We are not at a disadvantage if the Holy Spirit dwells within us!

Don’t you know that if God’s Spirit lives in you, it is also at work in you? Don’t make life all about your feelings, or how you can come up, or building a wall around your heart so others won’t hurt you! In order to accomplish what God has put inside of you, you have to think of other people’s feelings. You have to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. You have to take a chance and be vulnerable. 61A93ED2-548F-496D-A561-8AED94A22E08

You have to be humble when someone is rude to you! We are not operating in our purpose to get a reward from people! We are doing it as a response to God, and because we know that our real reward is in Heaven! So unclench your fists, share the spotlight, love unconditionally and don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith! Just as our Father exalted Christ, He will also exalt you!

1 Peter 5:6 (ESV)

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”
