The sin within.

We want what we want… I am speaking in regards to the natural body. The spirit on the other hand wants to do God’s will, but because we’re in this body which was born into the unavoidable snares of sin, it’s a struggle. Isn’t it crazy how we want what we want, even if we know it’s no good for us. Some may even believe that they can’t live without something that could be literally killing them… that’s what I call a deadly addiction.

Sin is a deadly addiction, that makes us feel this great temporary high, but like all things in this life, it comes with a price! Thanks to Jesus we don’t have to pay the ultimate price of death, if we believe John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Through Jesus, God has set us free from the law of sin and death (see Romans 8:1). When you find yourself doing something you know that you shouldn’t be doing or afterwards when the guilt sets in, or the worries that you’ll never change comes, remember this next scripture: 1 Peter 3:18 (CEV) “Christ died once for our sins. An innocent person died for those who are guilty.

Christ did this to bring you to God, when his body was put to death and his spirit was made alive.” Jesus died one time for your lifetime of sins! Listen, God loves you and still wants you! As a matter of fact, you may think you chose Him, but He chose you (see Ephesians 1:4)! He will never leave or forsake you, even at your worst!

The great thing about God is that His unconditional love for us, makes us want to change and become more Christlike. It makes us realize that God’s Will is best for us, and because we love Him more than we want to fulfill our fleshly desires, we begin to stir up the gift of the Holy Spirit and walk in the power of the almighty God (read 2 Timothy 1:6-7). I encourage you to walk in your deliverance. The blood of Jesus has not only set you free but it has deliverance power as well. How do you get delivered?

You get back up when you fall, and seek God more than catering to your feelings, and last but most certainly not least, you turn things you cannot control, over to God! Think about it, when we intentionally sin, it’s because we haven’t turned certain things or situations completely over to God! We forget that we are not alone, and that causes us to operate from a “I” mindset. “I” have to find a solution to my own problem. “I” have to make things better.

When we operate from a “I” mindset, we forget about HIM! So, my encouragement for you today is to keep on, keeping on! The number of times you’ve fallen isn’t what defines you, the number of times you get back up is what does! Walk in your deliverance! It has to become a lifestyle.

Take it one day at a time, and you will continue to grow and develop into the fullness of who God created you to be, His masterpiece!

Romans 7:21-25 (CEV)

21 The Law has shown me that something in me keeps me from doing what I know is right. 22 With my whole heart I agree with the Law of God. 23 But in every part of me I discover something fighting against my mind, and it makes me a prisoner of sin that controls everything I do. 24 What a miserable person I am. Who will rescue me from this body that is doomed to die? 25 Thank God! Jesus Christ will rescue me.

So with my mind I serve the Law of God, although my selfish desires make me serve the law of sin.

Romans 8:1-2 (ESV)

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
