When I was in my early twenties I begin to ask God, “What is my purpose in life?” I would see different people doing things in their life that seemed to be so easy for them and they excelled at it. It was as if they were born to do it! “Lord what was I born to do?” Lord knows that I don’t want to be like the man in the parable that Jesus spoke about who hid his talent while others did what they could with what they had. We all know how that story ended for him. (Matthew 25:14-30) God answered me not long after I asked him that question and I thought that the answer he’d give to me would be something difficult or mind blowing but it was quite the opposite. He answered my question with a question. “What is it that you are good at and that you enjoy doing? That is your talent.” I didn’t realize until years later that how that talent would be used would be my gift or contribution to the world. I love to write. I have loved writing since elementary school when I wrote my first short story in second grade. I like to read but I love writing. I don’t want to boast but I think that I’m pretty good at it. I’ve written poems, stories and even plays and most of them have only collected dust (thus the man who hid his talent under grown 😕) but I believe that it’s time for me to share my gift with the world. I want to write books that inspire and motivate people spiritually, mentally and physically. I have a deep love for people and I want all of us to be the very best that God intended for us to be. I believe that I can do it! Will there be bumps, hills and mountains along the way? I’m sure of it! I am also sure that in the end it will be well worth the ride. I want to be one of those people that other people say “she was born to do that.” Because I believe that I am. Do I have a lot to learn? Yes and I am willing to. No matter what comes my way I believe that I will get there with the help of God. I believe that “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Phillippians 4:13. You should too! What is it that you are good at and you enjoy doing? Don’t hide it. Share it with the world! Believe in yourself! Come on. You can do it!
